Picture Perfect Pregnancy
As a first time mom, there comes a point in your pregnancy where you start to notice “a bump” and you immediately want to take your maternity photos! Slow down there mama, you’re only going to get bigger (and that’s a good thing). You usually wait until the third trimester once you’ve got a full on baby bump, rather than the uncertain “is that a food baby?” bump. The 3rd trimester bump is perfect for photography, but you may not be feeling as glamorous these days. Swollen feet, chubby face, back aches, uncontrollable sweating…the list of undesirable symptoms goes on and on. Sometimes the last thing on your mind is having your picture taken.
Fast forward to baby number two or three and these symptoms appear even earlier and you seem to get bigger faster than you did the first time around. At 30 weeks pregnant I had already gained 40 pounds, my feet were too swollen to fit in any cute shoes, and the 85 degree Texas heat had me sweating off any attempt to contour a narrower jaw-line on my now fuller face!
Why a Maternity Photo Shoot is a “Must” in my Book
Despite these inconveniences, I believe the beauty of pregnancy is absolutely meant to be captured. A maternity photo shoot is a reminder of the strength we women posses and the incredible changes our bodies are capable of in order to create life. I realized that I may not feel like a million-bucks physically, but I had so much joy within and that deserved to be documented. I also don’t know whether or not this is our last baby, so it’s necessary to celebrate this body while I can.
I wanted a photo session that captured the excitement of this pregnancy and waiting for my little guy. I immediately thought of my talented and fabulous friend Kathy Whittaker . She made sure every detail was perfect to create visuals that showed just how beautiful this pregnancy has been! I’ve shared some photos and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
One day after the shoot, my insanely talented #bossmom of a sister called to let me know she was coming to Austin and wanted to take pictures as well! Her aesthetic is much more street style and I was excited to see what kind of fun we could have with her fashion and my bump! Check out the fun shots!
Love this sweet picture with my Evie (more of those to come later).

P.S. Had I known I would STILL be waiting at 41 weeks pregnant, I would have added a few more inpatient, flustered, and exhausted pictures to really share how I am feeling! lol.
